Intraoral Scanner

Intraoral scanners are used to create digital dental impressions through a much less invasive process than traditional dental impressions—that require mold trays and impression material (alginate) to sit in your mouth.

How do Intraoral Scanners work?

The scanner projects a light source onto the area of your teeth to be scanned. Images of the scanned teeth are captured by imaging sensors and are processed by scanning software, that produces a 3D surface model of your teeth.

What are the benefits of using Intraoral Scanners?

  • Patient Comfort—Creation of digital impressions is significantly more comfortable for the patient
  • Time Efficient—Digital impressions require less time than traditional impressions
  • No Wait Time—Resulting dental impressions are available the moment they are captured
